Bay to Breakers 2018

Sunday, May 19, 2019: It's time for the 108th Alaska Airlines Bay to Breakers

Since 1912, this legendary race has taken over a million participants including elite athletes, centipede teams of 13, celebrities, costumed racers, marathon runners, weekend walkers and more from the edge of the Bay, to the shore of the Pacific Ocean, via routes through iconic San Francisco neighborhoods.

As in years past, this year's race puts safety first. Remember: alcohol, floats and "mobile bars" are prohibited in the race and along the race course.

Non-registered participants will not be allowed to run in the race. So, bring your fun, but keep this only-in-San Francisco event safe, sane and secure for everyone.

Due to heightened security procedures, bags, backpacks and containers are banned from the Bay to Breakers race course, unless they are clear and are no larger than 8.5”x11”x4”. Participants will not be allowed to enter the starting area, race course or Finish Line Festival with any bag that does not conform to these rules.

Accommodations will not be made for bags
brought to the event.

Clear, course-approved bags will be for sale at the race Expo event May 17 & 18 at Pier 35.
